The Associated Press reported this weekend that pills taken from singer Prince's Minneapolis-area home labeled as a combination of hydrocodone and acetaminophen actually were the synthetic drug fentanyl – an opioid 50 times more powerful than heroin. Prince died in April of an overdose of the “designer drug’ that has been blamed for an increasing number of overdose deaths in the United States and beyond.
